Board Games for Food

The Board Games for Food raffle in aid of The Trussell Trust, which supports a UK-wide network of food banks, providing emergency food and support to people locked in poverty in the UK, has now ended.

83 tickets were sold and all the winners have confirmed receipt of their games. So £373.50 (that’s after Raffall.com‘s 10% commission on each ticket sale) is now making its way to the charity.

Thank you again to everyone who donated games, Naylor Games: https://naylorgames.com/, Braincrack Games: https://www.braincrackgames.com/, Harriet Cooper Translations and everyone who wanted to remain anonymous and everyone who bought tickets. It’s all thanks to you that we were able to raise so much money. I’m in awe of you all.

Congratulations once more to the winners: Ann Jones, Caroline Scott, Clare M Belcher, David Storey, Dean Ellison, Gavin Jones, Helen Walker, Jack Vickeridge, Jamie Adams, Katrina Demeanour, Shaun Newman and Simon Marr. I hope you enjoy the games you have received.

Of course, there is nothing to stop you from continuing to help The Trussell Trust. The trust supports more than 1,200 food bank centres, about two-thirds of the food banks in the UK, to provide a minimum of three days’ nutritionally-balanced emergency food to people who have been referred in crisis (for instance by advice agencies, GPs, social services and schools), as well as support to help people resolve the crises they face.

More than 14 million people in the UK live below the poverty line. Every person’s struggle with poverty is different and it takes more than food to end hunger. The Trussell Trust brings together the experiences of food banks in their network and their communities to challenge the structural issues that lock people in poverty and campaign for change to end the need for food banks in the UK.
